DMV Interpretation Unparalleled, is headed by founder Ruma Bhowmik who has nearly 20 years of experience in leading Language Services Departments and executing interpreter services rendered to DMV area’s major institutions and organizations in the DMV area such as health care system, school systems, Department of Family Services, and volunteer organizations. This breadth of experience enables DMVIU to possess comprehensive insight into the requirements of Language Services for Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients, clients, and non-medical professionals who serve them. Prior to transitioning into a career in Language and Interpretation Services, Ruma worked as a professional Social Worker for various organizations in Northern Virginia. Ruma earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from George Mason University, Fairfax Virginia, and Master of Social Work Degree from Howard University, Washington D.C.

Qualified interpreters contribute to successful outcomes. Before joining our team, DMV Interpretation Unparalleled (DMVIU) Interpreters must demonstrate proficiency in both the target language and English, as well as successfully complete accredited interpreter training. As part of the hiring process, DMVIU conducts interviews with each candidate to ensure that the interpreter is linguistically skilled, culturally competent, has the ability to interpret with accuracy/transparency, understands and adheres to the interpreter’s professional code of ethics to provide the best professional interpretation services our clients have trusted us to do.
